Sometimes we get all caught up in what we're doing. We spend a lot of time on just the right list building page to attract customers. We test our headline. We make sure the autoresponder is set up properly, and then... there's something we forget.

Who are these people?

List building for a specific audience--people interested in your niche is very important, even more important then all the testing and tracking, perhaps.

I mean, think about it. If you don't find the right people to target, where are you?

So, how do you find the finest list building audience? Easy. Do some research. Where do people with kids, for instance, hang out?

Well... how about newsgroups? You can go to Google Groups at http://groups.google.com, and come away with a bunch of groups that discuss parenting. There's alt.parenting, alt.parenting-solutions, misc.kids.health, and alt.mothers to name just a few. You'll be able to join these groups right from Google or via a stand-alone newsreader, which comes right along with Outlook Express.

Become a member of these groups. Then, after observing the atmosphere and reading the groups FAQs, make some interesting posts--not about your newsletter or whatever you're building your list about, but join in the discussions. Use the URL to your list building page in your signature file at the end of your post.

Or, what about blogs? Though Google isn't putting much stock in one-way links you get from posting to them anymore, you can still do some list building through them. Again, it' s important to make a post relating to the discussion in the blog, and then, only to use your URL in your signature line. You can find blogs with the theme of parenting at http://blogsearch.google.com.

Places where people shop, like Amazon.com? You can write reviews of books on parenting or rate products and use the URL to your list building page.

One thing you have to be when you're list building is creative. Find the people who want the information you have to give or what you're selling. Otherwise, you'll just be wasting your time and all your list building efforts will be down the tubes. List building the right way can make you rich. List building the wrong way can just frustrate you and leave you disillusioned.

Let me just kind of give you some insight into this. In theory, only one copy of your article is going to get ranked anywhere ever at any time. So if you put it on your own website and Google captures it first, assuming that they give you credit for it, assuming that you've got some page rank etc, assuming that their filters do a good job of giving you credit for it first, if you put it on EzineArticles, that page is probably not going to show up in normal search results anyway. It's probably going to be shuttled over to supplemental results and not going to show up in top 10 results anyway.

So if you're going to put it on your site, why put it on EzineArticles? Now if you put it on EzineArticles first, unless your site has a higher page rank than 6 or 5, depending on what page you're on in EzineArticles, there's no sense in putting it on yours.

My advice to people is write separate articles. If you need content for your site, write one article, and then when you submit articles, write separate articles.

I don't think there's any good reason to put an article on your site and on EzineArticles if you're looking for traffic and links and that type of thing from it.

Now if you've got a lot of articles on EzineArticles and you want them all indexed there and you want people to be able to see them there, then maybe there's a case to put some of those duplicates on your own site.

But I think that long-run the wisest strategy is if you put something on your site, don't submit it anywhere else. I think that pretty much answers that question.

Whenver I want to write a high number of articles (from five to twenty), I put myself in a writing zone.

I sit down at the same place (a place dedicated for article writing), and instantly change my state of mind. From this moment, I have one simple goal: writing the number of articles for the day.

I will take a physical piece of paper and write down some numbers. If I want to write 10 articles, I will write from 1 to 10.

I make sure that my son and daughter are not going to ask me a bunch of questions. In fact, they can feel that I am in a "writing frenzy" just by looking at me. However, I found that it is very effective to tell them that I am writing. They won't ask me anything after that.

I make sure that nobody is going to talk to me because I know that once I lose my concentration, it can take as much as fifteen minutes to come back to my initial state.

Doing this rituel will allow me to write articles really fast.

It is also important that you write like you speak amd avoid complicated sentences and grammar strcuctures. What you want is to convey your message and allow anybody to understand what you have to say.
