Increase Web Site Sales with a SEO Proposal - Part 2

Part I of this article discussed some of the points that should be included in a search engine optimization proposal. Visit the resources section at the bottom of the page if you wish to get a copy of the whole article.

Part 2 will discuss the following topics:

Creation of Meta Information
Site Map Creation
Link Popularity Building
Web Site Load Time and HTML Validation
Downloading and Uploading of Web Pages
Browser Search Engine and Directory Submissions
Compatibility and Resolution Checking

Creation of Meta Information (title, description, keywords)

Meta information is used to provide additional information about HTML documents so that the search engine crawlers are able to index the information more accurately.

There are 3 important types of Meta tags as far as search engine optimization is concerned:

Title tag:

The Title tag is not a Meta tag. However title tags play a vital role in your sites rankings. It is these words or phrase that appear in the title of your page in the hyperlink listings on the search engine results. I include the most relevant and specific keywords or key phrases in the title tag that best describe the contents of the page.

Meta description tag

This gives a short and concise summary of the content of your web page. The description appears in the SEs just below the title tag. I ensure that the meta description tag is brief but includes some of your top keywords. The words used must inspire the visitor to check your site out further. Each page must be customized so all your web pages will not have the same meta tag descriptions.

Meta keywords tag

Although not as relevant as the other tags mentioned above, the Meta keywords tag is still recognized by some SEs. I include a number of meta keywords for you that are relevant to the content of your web pages.

Site Map Creation

The creation of a site map page enables SE spiders better crawling of your site. It also helps visitors to quickly scan your whole site for relevant information. A link and a short description of that link is created for each page of your site. The site map page is then added to your main navigation menu.

Link Popularity Building

Link Popularity refers to the number of links pointing to your site, from other sites on the web. There are other terms used for Link Popularity, such as Link building, In Bound Links, Back Links, etc The Search Engines consider your site important and rank it higher if other sites link to your site. There are two types of links you can establish on the web. One type is to trade links (Link Exchange), where you give a link from the links Page on your site to the partner sites. The second method is to establish only "incoming links" also called one-way links' or non-reciprocal links. With non-reciprocal links, you do not need to link back to them.

There are several ways of developing Inbound links.

Some of the techniques I follow in one way link building are:

a) Submitting to Free Directories

b) Writing articles and submitting to various sites for publishing to increase the link popularity of your site.

c) Press releases

d) Sending requests to established sites explaining the site quality and asking for links. In the link exchange process, you trade links with prospective partner sites by offering a link to their site from your own site. I provide reciprocal link building services to increase the link popularity of your site.

Web Site Load time and HTML Validation

Search Engines dont like sites which take a lot of time to load. They sometimes ignore these sites and place them lower in their index than fast loading sites. Some reasons for slow load times include html errors and bad image optimization. Sometimes sites are coded badly which can be a big block for visiting search engine crawlers. I will check your site's load times and make the necessary changes to the html where necessary.

Downloading and Uploading of Web Pages

To make the necessary changes to your site, web pages will need to be downloaded to my computer. After changes are completed the pages will then be uploaded to the server.

Search Engine and Directory Submissions

Your site is submitted by hand to all the major search engines, directories and some specialized directories. Not all SEs and Directories have the same rules for submission, therefore care will be taken to submit to the appropriate search engines by following their specific guidelines.

Browser Compatibility and Resolution Checking

People view sites in different browsers and at different resolutions. I make sure your site can be viewed in all the major browsers and in the most common resolutions. Adjustments will be made to the site's code where necessary.

Productive Article Marketing - Discover 4 Amazing Secrets to Breakthrough with Article Marketing

The process of writing and publishing articles online is currently the most profitable way to make money over the World Wide Web. This effective promotional tool, which is commonly referred to as article marketing, is proven to easily augment website's traffic and help marketers earn the trust of their potential customers as they can showcase their expertise through their article content.

Here are the 4 amazing secrets to breakthrough with article marketing:

1. Use effective titles. Your titles can either make or break your article marketing campaign. If they are well-written and attention-grabbing, your articles will surely get the exposure they need as they will be more likely to be opened, read, and widely republished.

2. Your articles must be informative. Make your readers happy by filling up your articles with valuable information that are targeted to their needs and demands. Never leave any stone unturned and strive to dig deeper so you can give your potential clients more in-depth side of your stories.

3. Lay down your objectives. When you know your goals in writing and distributing your articles online, adjusting your marketing efforts and techniques will become a lot easier. For instance, if you would like to drive more traffic to your website you must be willing to multiply the number of your articles to increase your inbound links.

4. Make your resource box compelling. I can't still believe that there are marketers who are not taking their time in creating their resource box. Some of them are just leaving their websites' URL. If you aim to improve your conversation rate, this is not the way to go. You must make your resource box enticing and interesting to compel more people to check on your website.

Optimizing Description Tags - 7 Top Strategies

Site owners don't often put much thought into meta descriptions tags. They will write anything that comes into their heads without considering who's going to read them.

What are meta description tags?

These are the tags you insert after the title tags of your web site. The description displays under the title of your web site in the search engine results pages (SERPS).

7 Top Strategies

1. Include keywords

Don't duplicate the keywords used in your title tag. Try to vary them a little ie if you used the plural form in the title tag use the singular form in the description tag.

If you used an abbreviated word in the title tag use the full word in the description tag.

2. Write a different description for every web page.

Make sure the description adequately describes what the web page is about so the visitor knows immediately what to expect.

3. Get into the head of your visitor.

You only have a few sentences to make an impression on your visitor. A well-crafted description will help differentiate your site from your competitors. Make sure you write full sentences, not an abbreviated one.

4. Length of description

The search engines will read anywhere from 150 to 250 characters. Google displays about 150 to 160 characters. If it is over 160 characters it will be truncated. Other search engines allow more characters. A general rule is to write 200 characters (approximately 25-30 words.)

5. Include keyword phrases used in web content

Search engines give more weight to sites which include the same keyword phrases in the web copy and description tags.

6. Word order

Place your most important keyword phrase at the beginning of your meta description tags. It should also be a phrase that captures your visitor's attention so they will want to check out your web site.

7. Correct coding

The description tag is coded differently for HTML and XHTML.

In HTML the meta tag has no end tag. ie >

In XHTML the meta tag must be properly closed. ie />

Conclusion

Optimizing the description tags is is not as important as optimizing the title tags because the description tags don't impact your rankings as much. Instead focus on providing a well-written description that will make visitors want to check out your web site.

Search Engine Optimisation Services Specialist Discusses What Is Search Engine Optimisation Part 13

Capture other blog RSS feeds from as many Blogs as you can. Join and use blogs that are owned and managed by Google. These blogs will get very good recognition from the Google spiders. From an SEO standpoint, use RSS feeds from many blogs and place them on your websites. Use everything that you can get hold of on the internet to change your content on your website on a regular daily basis. However, make sure that you do not 'copy and paste' somebody else's content. This is good search engine optimisation practice and it works.

Start writing keyword specific content for a website or for a blog. Remember that everything you write, be it a forum post, blog, article or press release will add content to the website that you want to promote to the top of the search engines. This will happen, as you will always point to and refer to your website in the content you write by means of a link or hyperlink.

Join many free press release services. This will obviously not cost you a cent at any time. Can you imagine how powerful it would be, search engine optimisation wise, if you wrote forty keyword rich effective press releases announcing your website. Remember, your content must not advertise anything, which is another important basic SEO technique.

People are sick and tired of adverts selling them something on the internet. Be very clear and do not advertise. Advertising does not work and is dead on the internet. You are executing a search engine optimisation campaign to market (not advertise) your website and must therefore write initially to attract the search engine spiders only and not for the people who eventually read your content.

Bum Marketing Methods - How To Make Money By Doing Nothing

You are probably wondering what bum marketing is, and how you can make money from it yourself. It is quite simple really, all you need to do is find an affiliate program you like, and then promote it using free outlets such as Squidoo or Blogger. By creating a web of interconnected articles marketing your products as well as your other articles, you will gain organic traffic quickly and easily. By using article marketing you allow your articles to be picked up by giants such as Google and Yahoo without actually dedicated all that much time or resources to building backlinks as you would need to if you planned on starting your own website.

Bum marketing is based off keyword research, you need to find a niche and work from there. Gurus will pick the highly competitive niches as they will yield the highest results if they are done correctly but for new bum marketers it is a far better idea to start small. Find a niche that isn't overly competitive that has products to be sold. This can take time, you need to do research to determine what markets are flooded with affiliate marketers and which aren't, a good way to determine this is to do a Google search for keywords you would like your bum marketing articles to target. If there is a full page of Google AdWords results (11 sponsored links) then you most likely will not fair too well to begin with in this niche. Finding the right niche can be hard but once you do you should stick with it and watch the profits soar. Once you have a niche, all of your articles, webpages, sales pitches, etc. will become relevant to each other, and through this relevancy you can increase traffic and sales conversions across the board as you target new keywords. The key to bum marketing is getting organic traffic. While there are millions of marketers that manage to make money without organic traffic (traffic that comes naturally from search results as opposed to paying for advertising) you will need a solid base of organic traffic.

My personal steps for using bum marketing on various products:

  • Find a niche that isn't overly crowded that you can talk about.

  • Find products within the niche that are the right price and quality so that they will lead to sales and therefore commissions.

  • Research keywords that could be used to search for that specific product as well as general keywords that people would search for that may be willing to buy the product.

  • Build a Squidoo lens or a Blogspot blog for the product giving an unbiased review (I never sell products that don't work well, I refuse to scam people for money).

  • Build backlinks for the lens or blog, typically with a little bit of article marketing and purchasing a social bookmarking package from a SEO firm.

  • Promote products using social networks such as Facebook and MySpace, especially MySpace.

  • Watch the commissions roll in as I hit the front page of Google and Yahoo, and find ways to expand my product line using traffic from various sources.

Bum marketing or even affiliate marketing in general is not for everyone. In order for it to work, you must be patient, there is no other option. I started using bum marketing a few months back and now it is already paying large dividends for me. I'm currently a 19 year old freshman college student yet I am making enough money online to pay for my graduate school as well as a brand new car, hopefully this information will lead to your success as well. Basic Search Engine Optimization - Beyond The Mystery And Right To The Facts

Search engine optimization has long been the Holy Grail of Web marketing. Every website owner wants to see their sites rank well in the top engines, but exactly how to achieve this remains a mystery for most marketers.

The first thing I want to point out is this fact: The exact algorithms used by the major search engines are actually proprietary, so anyone who doesn't work for one of these companies who tells you they know exactly what it takes to put you at the top is probably lying to you.

The truth is the search engine companies don't want people like me understanding their systems and creating positive results for my clients. The people behind search engine technology believe their algorithms provide the perfect solution for a Web surfer's query.

But of course you and I know better. How many times have you tried to do a simple keyword search and ended up with page after page of irrelevant results?

Whether they like it or not, the search engines do need help from proficient designers and skilled marketers. It's up to us to add the human element that robots and software simply can't accomplish in an effort to bring searchers the best possible results.

SEO (search engine optimization) is a term with a very broad scope. There is a great deal of work and diligence involved in producing favorable search results for your website(s), but this article will take away much of the mystery that shrouds this subject and give you the basic fundamentals you'll need to create some real results.

First of all, you should know there are two aspects of search engine optimization; onsite and offsite. Onsite optimization refers to what you can do within your code to make your files more search engine friendly, and offsite refers to link building from other websites back to your web pages.

Solid onsite optimization involves the following steps:

Title and Meta Tags:

Your title tag should reflect your primary keyword phrase. This is HUGELY important.

Often when I visit a site I see the domain name in the title bar. The title tag is the first thing a search engine robot is going to take notice of, and if you blow this aspect of onsite optimization your remaining efforts will have considerably less impact.

For instance, on one of my sites I sell an e-book to online marketers about the pitfalls of business opportunity programs found on the web. The title of my e-book is Net Marketing Exposed, which is pretty cool, but do you think this would be an intelligent entry for the Title tag of my main page? Of course not. Who on earth is going to search for 'Net Marketing Exposed'?

So my title tag reads: Internet Marketing E-book | Internet Business Opportunity. My target market for the site I'm referencing consists of home-based opportunity seekers and Internet marketers so I have chosen keyword phrases that match these search terms for my Title tags.

And note you can use the pipe character ( | ) to separate multiple terms in your title tag. I recommend going with at least two phrases in your title tag, but do not use the exact same words more than three times in your title.

The debate as to whether or not search engines still reference your meta tags when spidering your site is a hot topic among SEO experts. I honestly don't know if the major engines still read the keyword tag or not, but I add this tag anyway because it only takes a couple of minutes and why not take this extra step just in case right?

Whether or not you utilize the Meta Keywords tag is up to you but I do urge you to use the Meta Description tag. We know for a fact the engines read this tag because if you have it entered in the head section of your html it is what displays under your site title in the search listings.

So the description tag serves not only to add keyword relevance for the search engine spiders, it also acts as your ad when a searcher views your listing in the search results. Adding a quality description in this field can improve the clickthrough rate your listing receives once it is found through a keyword search.

Search engine Friendly File Names:

I recommend naming your page files in a manner that reflects your relevant keyword phrases. If you have a page that lists your articles on your site name that file articles.html instead of something useless like page02.html

Of course the main page in every directory will have to be named index, but that's ok as the engines are hip to that; just be sure to put some thought into your other file names.

Header Tags and Page Content:

You should also use Header tags (H1, H2, H3, etc.) to illustrate important keyword phrases within your site. For example, the page title your visitor sees at the top of your content should be enclosed in H1 tags and should contain your primary keywords.

And obviously your main keywords need to appear several times in the content of each page. Placing these phrases close to the top of your content is recommended, and you should use underline, bold, and italic tags to add emphasis to your keywords within your content.

I have found the 'strong' tag to be of particular effectiveness. While on a visual level it serves the same purpose as the 'b' tag (creates bold text) my research suggests that search engine spiders respond better to the 'strong' tag.

Be careful not to emphasize every keyword phrase with special tags, and avoid excessive and unnatural "stuffing" of keywords onto your pages as the engines may pick this up and flag your site as search engine spam.

Image Tags:

Many designers and marketers ignore the value of proper image tagging when optimizing their templates for the engines. I can tell you right now I have seen a huge jump in ranking as a direct result of changing the structure of a site's image tags.

First of all, remember that search engine robots read text, not images. So avoid giving your image files names like 'header.jpg' or 'photo014.gif' unless you are hoping to be ranked for search terms like header and photo.

You should also be sure to use an alt tag with every image, and enter a keyword relevant phrase as your alt tag.

Going back to my e-book site as an example, my header graphic is named http://internet-business-opportunity.jpg, and has an alt tag of "Internet marketing e-book reveals the truth about Internet business opportunities." And the cover graphic for my book is named http://internet-marketing-ebook.jpg with a matching alt tag.

Onsite Link and Navigation Structure:

Finally pay attention to the anchor tags and navigation structure of your site. It's better to use keyword terms for a hyperlink text than to simply use 'click here'. I also suggest applying the Title attribute to add keyword phrases to your link tags.

Of course if you use image links refer back to the image name and alt tag rules.

And your menu should also be built around search engine friendly tags. For instance never use a 'Home Page' tag on your navigation; instead apply a relevant keyword.

If your website is about swimming lessons, the menu button for your home page should say 'Swimming Lessons' or something similar and not simply 'Home'.

This may seem like a lot to take in, but it's really a very simple formula for building search engine ready templates. Review this info until it is second nature and apply it to every site you build and you'll be on your way to stronger placement in the major engines.

The last, and the most important element of basic SEO is offsite optimization. This is a fancy term for link building.

To get the most out of your onsite optimization, you need plenty of good links pointing back to your website. And you should always strive for keyword anchored backlinks over straight URLs.

Again using my example site that retails an e-book to folks with an interest in work from home opportunities, I want hyperlink text that reads "Internet marketing e-book" or "Internet business opportunity".

A correctly built link back allows you to control what search engine spiders look for once they follow a link to your site. Once they arrive through an anchor tag that reflects your primary keywords, the spiders will proceed to look for these terms in your file tags and page content, which will of course improve your potential rankings.

This article has covered everything you need to get started with successful SEO. Master these concepts and you are certain to see a big jump in your search engine rankings!

Workable Google Page Rank Booster

Search Engine Optimization includes two kinds of activity which labeled as On-Page Optimization and Off-Page Optimization. Nowadays, a lot of webmasters thought that if they have already optimized their site (optimize meta tags, keywords and contents - On-Page Optimization); they just can wait for the Free Traffic coming from the Search Engine. That is wrong at this Information Age! There is still another activity they must do which is Off-Page Optimization or better known as "Link Popularity" (How popular is your website in the view of other websites).

In order to get a "Link Popularity", your site must HAVE what we called as Back Link. There are two kinds of Back Link:

1. One-way Back Link

It is possible for your site to get One-Way Back Link if your website content is good in the view of other webmasters. So, they link to us, but we don't link back to them.

2. Two-way Back Link (Link Exchange)

In order to find a good Back Link, follow this rule of thumbs:

1. Your website content must have a qualify content

2. Find site which has the same topic or keyword with your website content

3. Find a link partner which has a high Google PageRank and the site that they kept your link do not contain more than 50 (fifty) links.

4. Get Back Link from different IP address

By using this kind of a good Back Link, it can help to boost your Google PageRank also. Remember, SEO method usually takes time, so please allow some time to pass when you want to implement the Google PageRank Booster method that I am going to describe in here, but as you get accustomed with it, you will find it easy to implement every time you find a niche market.

How to boost your Google PageRank?

1. Create a lot of articles within your niche market with the correct keywords and correct phrases to describe what your website is all about. I suggest that your website at least must contain around 50-100 pages. If you do not have time in creating article, you can use the PLR (Private Label Articles) that are sold, but remember not to copy directly the PLR content as your website content. It is always a good idea to modify it.

2. Create an internal links in between your website content. I recommend you to create at least 30-50 internal links.

3. Update your content often and on a consistent schedule. Search Engine love freshly updated content.

4. Create Back Link to your website from others blogs, forums, directories, Web 2.0, etc.

You need to generate at least 10,000 links so that you can get Google PageRank of 5. Don't be dazed with the 10,000 links. When you website reached 150 pages of content with forty or more links to other pages, Google's spiders will count these insider links as 6,000 links on condition that your website's content is alike. Please allow some time for this method to work.

Learn Search Engine Marketing - Inbound Links

When you look at search engine optimization for your website, keep in mind that search engine robots look at how your pages are linked together and how your site is linked to other sites. When you place a link on your site, this is an OUTBOUND LINK; the site of the link benefits.

INBOUND LINKS is what the search engine robots look for; you want sites of related content and high traffic to place a link to your site on their site.

The fastest way to accomplish this is to write informative articles that link back to your site and have them published on other websites. The signature line in your forum posts that include your website address create links to your site as well as directory listings.

The more pages of VALUABLE CONTENT you have on your site, the more inbound links you can have pointing to your site. The exception to this is "Free For All" (FFA) pages which are also called "Link Farms" which can have the opposite effect and get you banned from search engines.

Find out who is linking to your site by using the three advance search commands:

link:www.yourdomain.com

inurl:yourdomain

allinurl:yourdomain

There are several Link Popularity Checker online; the Webmaster Toolkit and Marketleap has two of the most reliable.

Search engine optimization is a combination of four major factors, your keywords, your keyword optimized content, submissions to search engines and inbound links. Each one of these factors are important and together as a unit they can give you good search engine rank.

Business Marketing - How To Write Articles That Help Grow Your Business

Do you subscribe to internet newsletters, read books or buy the same magazine or newspaper on a regular basis?

If so, why?

Well my friends I'm going to take a stab in the dark here and say the main reason for you reading something on a regular basis is because what is being said is of interest to you. Yes I know that assumption or guess is hardly rocket science but when it comes to writing your articles you have to remember that the most important thing is the content.

The actual subject of your article isn't really that important in a way as the chances are there are people out there who will be interested in what you're writing about. However if you use articles as just another way to promote your business instead of focusing on your readers then I'm afraid your articles won't be read, won't be published by many people and won't bring you results.

So if killer content is the key how do you actually make sure you do it?

Well here are 5 top tips on how to write an article that if followed will turn your thoughts, observations and words on a particular subject into article gold dust.

Top Tip Number 1 - A.I.D.A

For those of you already familiar with A.I.D.A you'll know just how important having a structure to something is (be it a letter, an advertisement, a press release or an article).

A.I.D.A being:

  • Attention
  • Interest
  • Desire
  • Action

For many articles you will only get a small opportunity to get the readers attention and make them want to read more. Therefore make sure your article begins with a catchy headline and ensure the first paragraph explains what the article is about (in many cases a problem) and how the article is going to solve the problem.

So once you get your readers attention, make sure what you're saying is interesting. How many times have you brought a book based on the cover, the title or what's written on the back only to start reading it and think BORING!

The same applies to your article writing. It is pointless promising the world and delivering next to nothing. Not only will it annoy the reader but it will also put them off your writing long term.

Also on the subject of interest make sure what you're saying is somehow different to the crowd (and believe me in the world of article writing there's a pretty big crowd). Don't worry though as they'll still be hundreds and thousands (and dare I say millions for the right articles) of people wanting to read well written articles.

Desire - what do you desire? The secret to great article writing is turning curiosity into a desire to get something. If you do that your article writing will transform your life and the lives of others. By that I mean that you have to make people really want to know what you have to say. Just imagine an article with the headline of "The secret of life finally revealed". I for one would want to know what it was (PS...I do actually know what this is so if you'd like to know please visit my website and just ask me).

Clearly your articles may not reveal such things but for many people across the World what you have to say will be important to them and they will want to know more. Examples being:

"This Years Top 10 Christmas Presents" - people will want to know what they are

"The secrets to playing better golf" - people will read it (I know I would)

"Why 8 out of 10 women prefer Chocolate to Sex" - women will probably want to know who the other 20% are and men will be checking the Top 10 Christmas Presents above to see if they should take the sexy underwear they've just brought their partners back to the shop and instead buy them a big bar of chocolate instead! (my tip on this is buy both - well, you never know!)

My point is, make people want and desire you knowledge.

Top Tip Number 2 - Share your secrets

I'm not a religious man myself but I'm sure there's a passage in the Bible somewhere about in order to receive you must at first giveth. The same is true with articles. The chances are you will be writing about something that you have some expertise in or you have a real passion for. With this in mind you shouldn't hold back with your knowledge. Instead share your knowledge and yes your trade secrets with your readers. And the good news is even if they don't agree with you; they will respect you sharing your thoughts with them.

Top Tip Number 3 - Benefits

If you're not an Information Technology expert and you have ever gone to purchase a computer you'll know what I mean here. You go into a computer shop and you're told all about the latest computer and what features it has. RAM, Hard Drive, Multiple USB's, Pentium Processors, Prompt Action Mean Drive. OK so I made the last one up but going shopping for a computer might as well be like attending a Rocket Science conference as far as many people are concerned because the sales people focus on the features and not the benefits. All I want to know can I set it up quickly and use the internet, can I write some letters and store accounts information and can I download and play the latest tunes and films. Tell me that and you might have a sale. Make me look stupid by using jargon and technical mumbo jumbo (is mumbo jumbo jargon by the way?) and I'll smile and way away.

Top Tip Number 3 is to focus on the benefits that your article gives.

If you're giving tips on how kittens can be taught to use a litter tray then focus on the benefits that your house and carpet won't smell of cat wee. If you're writing on how to get the best insurance deal then focus on you the fact that you will save time and money.

Features don't sell. Benefits do. Include benefits in your article writing, your advertising and in all your business marketing and watch your profits increase and your business grow.

Ways To Use Articles To Expand Your Online Business

So you created or have hired someone to create some articles. Did you know there are several ways you can benefit from these articles not just one or two ways?

First of all you can submit each article to article directories to get one way links. Even if you are not doing search engine optimization, you will still get benefit by doing article submission. You receive traffic as well.

Second you can put these articles on your website or blog. Create a new page for each article. Content is king on the Internet.

You can contact webmasters which have websites or blogs in your niche and tell them you wish to swap articles or contribute your articles to their blog. Both blogger and wordpress platforms allow you to add authors on your blog. So these webmasters can add you as an author and you can post your articles to their blogs whenever you wish.

Swapping articles means you post the webmasters articles on your blog or website and they put your articles on theirs. This has two benefits. Content and backlinks. Both help search engine rankings. Article exchanges are better than link exchanges, even though they are more difficult to do.

You can visit internet business related forums. See if they have a section where you can trade, swap or exchange links and private message users to ask them for an article exchange. You can also use this technique and contact webmasters asking them to become an author for their blog.

When you become an author of another blog, you can link to your own website from within the article, or by creating a bio. A bio is simple few lines of text that either promotes your websites or talks about you. In bio you put a link to your own website. So it is a win win situation. You can backlinks and the webmasters gets free content.

There are other places you can submit your articles like social bookmarking websites. Simple post your articles on your blog, then bookmark these blog posts.

There are several sites that accept stories, but usually approve also articles, not just stories. There are blog carnivals. These are websites that display top blog posts about a particular subject. There are thousands of blog carnivals on any topic, and you simple submit your blog posts that contain articles to these websites.

You can transform your articles into an ebook. You can put several chapters in the ebook, putting each article as a new chapter. You may want to edit it a bit and you have a ready made ebook. It might not be good idea to try and sell it, since the information is also on your blog for free.

But you can give it away for free and build a list. So people have to optin to your list in order to get a free copy of your ebook. You build your list, and they get free ebook. You can then promote products to your list once you build a relationship with them. But if you do not put the articles on your blog you can sell the ebook.

So do not just submit your articles to article directories like everyone else is doing. Be creative and you get more benefits.

Keyword Analysis - Finding Out What Your Customers Are Searching For

Before you can start optimizing your web copy and meta tags, you need to know what words you're optimizing it for. What words do you want to rank well for? To answer this question, you need to know what words your customers (or potential customers) are searching for. This is called performing a keyword analysis.

Keyword analysis involves a bit of research and a good knowledge of your business and the benefits you offer your customers.

There are several websites specifically designed to make keyword analysis easier. Two examples are:

  1. Overtures inventory tool (inventory.overture.com/d/searchinventory/suggestion/). This tool is free and very easy to use and understand, but (last time I looked) it only tells you how many searches have been conducted in the previous month for your keyword (and similar keywords).
  2. WordTracker (wordtracker.com). WordTracker is a much more powerful tool, but you have to pay to use it (you can subscribe for a day for around $10). WordTracker helps you find the most appropriate keyword for your site by telling you what people are really searching for. Heres how it works You type in a word which summarizes what you do, and it tells you how many times that word has been searched for in the last month. It also tells you how many other websites are using that word as a keyword (i.e. targeting the same customers you are). Based on this information, it rates the word. The best keywords are the ones that a lot of people are searching for but which few websites are targeting. WordTracker even suggests and rates alternative related words.

TIP: When youre using WordTracker, bear in mind that its just talking about numbers, and numbers dont always tell the whole story. So dont just jump in and use the best rated keywords; you need to consider your own situation. It may be the case that youre forced to select a keyword phrase which is not rated particularly highly. There are two situations in which this might happen:

  • Youre in a niche market with relatively few customers searching for the keyword. In this situation, youll probably find it relatively easy to reach the top of the rankings, but you wont generate a huge volume of traffic when you get there.
  • A lot of your competitors are targeting your keyword (its hotly contested) but its the only one you can use. If you target it, youll just have to work a bit harder on your backlinks in order to rank highly. When theres a lot of competition for a keyword, its likely that the traffic payoff is good once you reach top.

Articles as a Viral Marketing Tool

'The Money is in the List' is a common saying in the internet marketing field. Profit is almost always guaranteed to anyone, irrespective of what is up for sales, if he/she has a responsive list of subscribers. However, what most people has missed out is that you can actually build such a responsive list, ready to buy whatever you have for sales, just by writing and submitting content rich articles.

By writing articles on any chosen topic, you are actually proving your worth and demonstrating your expertise in the field. You will be seen by people who read your articles as an expert and reliable person in your chosen field. Thus, leveraging your viral marketing effort on such articles, if done right, is bound to be rewarding.

In simple language, all you have to do is right content rich, entertaining and informative articles on your area of expertise or chosen niche, then go ahead and submit your articles to a couple of article repositories i.e. sites that allow free submission of articles.

The catch here is that, with every article you submit you are allowed to append what is called the 'author bio box or resource box' which normally should include a brief description of yourself, your business and a link to your business site.

If you intend to build your list using article submission, all you have to do is make sure that your resource box URL links to your mailing list's landing page where you can get your visitor's name and email address. To make this more effective, you could promise people landing on the page a free report or any other related freebie for submitting their names and email address. Since people landing on the page would have read one or more of your articles, you would be seen as an expert, thus the level of trust is expected to be high.

Write as much articles as you can, if your articles are found worth sharing, ezine publishers will republish your articles together with your resource box for their readers and subscribers. The wonderful result: viral marketing without effort on your part!

You can begin your viral marketing effort today by writing and submitting your articles to trusted article submission sites such as http://www.ezinearticles.com/, http://www.articlemarketer.com/. The more sites you submit your articles to, the better your chances. You might want to consider getting your hands on one of the low cost, but effective auto article submitters like the one at http://www.best-article-submitter.com.

Article Marketing - 4 Highly Impacting Ways on How to Achieve Effective Article Marketing

The primary purpose of article marketing is to relay a message that you know will be of importance to your recipients. This is the only way that you can measure the efficiency and the success rate of your article - when you know that your article material has reached the people who need your information. It is for this reason that it is being suggested for article marketers to follow the below written guidelines to achieve an effective article marketing scheme.

1. Make sure you understand how the information that you have included on your article can be of use to your readers. When you know the answer to this, you will not then have a difficulty in understanding what sort of information that needs to be included on it. Always consider that the information that you put on it shall be used as a basis to come up with decisions.

2. Make sure that your readers have, to the least, an ample amount of understanding of what you are conveying to them. This means that whatever information that you include on your article, make sure that it is not a total stranger in the perception of the reader. Make sure that a generalized idea or concept is provided somewhere on the contents to promote an air of understand ability.

3. Consider the various types of readers that your article material may be encountering. Significantly, you have to make sure that your article material should be able to adapt with the immense cultural and intellectual differences of the readers. It is only with this that clear understanding of the article material can be achieved.

4. Proactively solicit for any feedback or suggestion that concerns the information that you have included on your article. This will make the writer more competent the next time he writes and all at the same time, it allows for diverse ideas to amalgamate that can produce far better form of information.

Article Marketing; Quality over Quantity

I am certainly no writer. Actually to those whom know me I am more of a ranter than anything. I have been writing on and off for many years (started a book on a typewriter back in the 80s). Do I have a style? I have no bloody idea, you tell me. I sure hope I do or else theres pretty good chance you havent even made it this far. I have recently been working closely with an editor friend to refine my limited talents. Over the course of our chats I decided an article about Article Marketing while sounding redundant, would be worth writing.

Not another one of these? Yes, I know there are more than few article marketing pieces out there, I am taking a slightly different angle. We are going to look at what makes a successful article marketing campaign so you can get the most out of a competitive marketplace. Competitive? I thought it was about getting Back Links you say? Thats where it starts to go wrong. The number one most common use of Article Repositories, is usually to get Back Links NOT as the full powered Marketing tool that it can be. This is what I often find short-sighted.

Lets look at some of the benefits and usage for Article Marketing programs; Surf-in traffic; This is really the number one reason. Above and beyond all else a well written article and marketed article will bring you traffic in the short and long term. I get traffic to our sites that came from an article I had written and marketed over a year ago. If you write a well thought out article that has lasting value, it will live out on the internet for quite some time. Traffic is always my goal and this is a major value to Article Marketing.

Link Profile development; This while not a primary focus for me, is a great additional benefit. Search engines, to a certain extent, base rankings from the number of Back Links (or In-Bound Links) a web site has pointing to it. This gives Article Marketing its second value. Through use of proper Link Text and keyword/phrase usage, your Article Marketing campaign can have a positive effect on your rankings and search referrers. For full effectiveness be sure to learn about building your Link Profile ( methinks I should write a Building your Link Profile article FIRST and then link to it. Thoughts?)

Building brand; well written articles and building a body of work will also help build the Brand of your company or yourself as an authoritative figure on the subject matter. This is also invaluable to any enterprise or undertaking. The opposite is also true that poorly written, shoddy or lazy articles can harm your reputation. Do it right or dont do it at all.

Tracking the Articles extra sensory perception

An over-looked area that makes it a true Program is the tracking. Dont just write and article, publish it onto the Dub-Dub-Dub a leave her to float away. How cruel, cold and uncaring. Watch the progress of the article. See how many times it is downloaded and viewed on the publishing site. Search Google for the Article Title in quotation marks, ( eg; My Article Title) to see how many times it was syndicated by other sites. See if anyone has reviewd it or quoted it and send them a thank-you. Tracking will also allow you to see which articles do the best. Now look at the style you wrote it in, the topic and other common factors. Soon you can start to choose topics and styles that will get you the most coverage with each successive article. Fun stuff huh?

Quality over quantity

Certainly a catch phrase these days in SEO (links, content etc), but it does hold true. You see, throwing out a ton of simplistic, non-engaging articles will do little more than garner a few back links. A well written article does so much more and you can even expect MORE back links as the eventual distribution/syndication of the article should be wider due to the lack of quality competitors.

A quality article will also be better received and promoted by the managers of your distribution sources (article repositories, e-magazines, newsletter editors). My number one 'editor in chief' Mark, certainly laments the vast number of pure drivel that arrives on his virtual doorstep every day. If you can entertain the distribution mangers and editors, you have won half of the battle. To that end I would also consider getting professional help. You heard me seek help!. With my SEO Company I keep professional writers around. I let them so what they do best and then my SEO guys do what they do best, optimize the article. Sure it raises my over-all cost, but if you factor in the many benefits of crafting professional work, its always worth it.

The main point is to not look at article marketing as simply another Link Drop. It is far more than that. Make sure you leverage it for all its worth.

Effective Review Article Writing Technique

The most admired approach of advertising a product on Internet is writing articles on the product. The most significant query in the mind of a customer, while going through such an article is, "What does this article offers to me?" If this question remains unanswered, then you should be prepared to lose potential buyers. Even if the product is of high standard, your articles needs to generate the want of your product in the minds of customers.

Put the Benefits Before the Customer

It is necessary to make the customers aware of the benefits offered by your product. Some benefits, from your point of view, might not appear beneficial to the customer.

What should be the proper order of the benefits, starting from the most important? There is a need to place you on the customer side and look at the product from that perspective. This is referred to as the two-way mirror effect. By following this approach you can arrange the benefits according to the importance of each.

Two Way Mirror Effect

This approach helps you to evaluate the product from the consumers point of view. What is important is the fact that the product looks beneficial for the customer and not for the manufacturer. The effective implementation of the two-way mirroring assists you to present the various benefits offered by the product in the order of importance.

Now let's analyze the ideas required to achieve this process. First take a survey about why people buy a particular product. What are the perceptions in the mind of people while choosing a product?

Analyze the way the people around you shop for their various needs like cars, mobiles, furniture etc. Keep yourself in their place and see the benefits of the product from their point of view. Read the user reviews submitted on various websites. These reviews are of great importance as these are based on the good and bad experiences of the customers. Then note down your observations and try to figure out the reasons.

The time will come when you will start thinking like a customer and not the producer or the promoter. This will help you to become an 'expertise' in the process of two way mirroring. One important point is to avoid using the word "I". Replace this with the word "You".

It requires a lot of time and practice to understand the two way mirroring process. But once understood, it will help you to write quality content for your product. And guess what, you will be able to provide the answer to that question in the customer's mind, "What does this article offers to me?"

How To Research The Right Keywords For Your Website

When you set about boosting your ranking on the search engines, you will want to pick keywords that will get you the best results. Selecting the right keywords for your website is a balancing act, but it is essential to get it right for good search engine optimization (SEO).

You want to select keywords that are popular and relevant to your site. However, you do not want keywords that return thousands of results, as it will be very difficult to get to the top of the rankings. Put simply, keywords are the words people type in to search engines when they search for something on the internet.

Ideally, you should do your keyword research before you set up your website as you can then build your site around your targeted keywords. You can employ an e-marketing professional to research the best keywords for you, or you can do it yourself.

There are some great free tools on the internet. Try out the Overture (Yahoo!) Keyword Suggestion Tool. Here you can type in keywords and the keyword suggestion tool will return an estimation of the monthly search volume for that phrase in Google, Yahoo, MSN and AOL. It will also show results for similar keywords.

You should select about 15 keywords and key phrases. Perform searches using these words to find competitors websites and see what keywords they are using in their websites, and how they are employed.

Another excellent tool to help you select the best keywords is Wordtracker. It can tell you how often people search for the keywords you chose and can offer some excellent alternative suggestions. You can try it out for free on the Wordtracker website. Google also offers a free keyword suggestion tool.

Once you have selected the right keywords for your website, you will need to use them wisely to achieve the best search engine optimization. The search engines do not like the overuse of keywords and you may even get banned if there are two many keywords and key phrases on your pages.

Keep keyword density in articles to about 2% and make sure that all content reads well and is informative. Articles written with the sole purpose of packing in as many keywords as possible will quickly drive visitors to your site away.

Also, be sure to include your keywords in page titles, META data, and try to work them in to links on your site when possible. Following these tips should help you strike the right balance when choosing your keywords and boost your search engine page ranking.

What's Killing Your Traffic

The winning formula for writing targeted traffic producing articles can be broken down into a few steps. Keyword research is a very intricate and important part of writing and submitting articles. It is also probably the most ignored part of writing articles. Usage of popular keywords, (words that are often used for searches on the Internet) will bring more targeted traffic to your article and/or website. As you write your article remain conscious of the keywords. Theyll definitely bring you traffic.

The length of the article is another important decision. Remember, you are not writing a book or screenplay. Your objective is to generate traffic. Many article publishers, webmasters, and bloggers find an ideal word count to be 400 800 words. Avoid writing an article of more than 800 words. The logic being, online reading concentration time, tends to be a bit less than offline. You want to keep your reader focused on content and have her finish your article.

The title of the article should be enticing. The readers have many choices online. We want her to choose your article. There are a few types of titles, well touch on two briefly today. There are problem based titles, and solution based titles. An example of a solution based title would be Five Secrets to Increasing Traffic. A title like that may have been a winner a few years ago, but its allure ability has faded over time. A problem based title would be Whats killing Your Traffic Which of the titles have more allure? Most people feel the latter title does. Remember the keywords are to be included in your title to increase your search and ranking on the Internet.

Now lets discuss the body of your article which is the content portion. It should be concise and to the point. To be most effective, it should be written from your readers perspective. In other words, readers are looking for information that meets their needs. A quality article thats to the point with rich content, will definitely find its way to avid readers. Those avid readers will generate targeted traffic to your website, which is one of our key objectives.

It is extremely important that you include your website URL in the resource box / signature box. Also include a few lines about yourself. This helps to establish you as a professional and increases your credibility. Ultimately your articles generate targeted traffic, increase your exposure and help to build your expert status.

Last but certainly not least, the most effective method of distribution is to submit your articles to article directories either manually or with an article submission company. EzineArticles.com and GoArticles.com are two of the highest ranked article submission sites. Submitting your articles to many of the top ranked article submission sites will help to ensure that your articles rank well in search engines. This in turn will generate additional targeted traffic for you.

I'm looking forward to reading your articles.

Squeeze Page Secrets

A squeeze page generates leads where the main purpose of the page or site captures a name and email address. Usually no links to other pages like contact or privacy information exist.

Your squeeze page will allow your subscriber to download a gift like a free e-book or report. You need very good sales copy on the page that will make them want to give their name and email address to download your free gift. You can test the effectiveness of your squeeze page by using a tool like Google analytics and measure how many visitors actually convert to subscribers. 30% rates as a good figure. Audio and video added to your squeeze page could increase your conversion rate to as high as 50%.

You need to integrate your squeeze page with your mailing list or auto responder. This means you will have to put html in your squeeze page to opt in to your autoresponder. You also need to send your mailing list targeted email offers. So for example if your mailing list targets golf you can send an offer for sample golf balls. You need to mail responsibly otherwise you will lose subscribers as they opt out of your mailing list when you send spam mails.

The squeeze page technique seems very popular. All the top internet marketers use it and they recommend this technique to all their customers. The bigger your list the more money you make. However, one needs to refine the skill of list building as you only make money from subscribers who actually buy.

Article Marketing - Why I Use Article Marketing To Generate Avalanches Of Leads

If you are doing any kind of article marketing now, you might be doing one of the following:

- promoting affiliate products to make commissions

- promoting your own sales page to sell products

- promoting a so-called Made-For-Adsense blog

- posting articles on your own blog to generate content

And I'll probably get 'killed' for saying this, but your articles are getting wasted.

Very few, and I mean very few, use article marketing solely to build a list. And lots of money is being left on the table, I'm afraid to say.

I basically do all the steps in Bum Marketing (the term created by Travis Sago to describe article marketing) but the difference is I promote a squeeze page to collect leads. The only way anyone can get extra information from me is if they enter their name and email address. I figured, if someone is not willing to give me those details, what more actually paying me online? Let's face it: we are running a business here, not a charity.

The reason why this is effective is because someone who likes your article is 'warmed up', he will want to get more information from you, and an email newsletter is the perfect way to do that.

So go and build a list with your articles. Write and submit multiple articles daily to top directories, and you will see floods (and I mean floods) of traffic and leads. Your lead generation will practically receive an instant boost. Your business will be given a positive kick up the rear from the results you get.
